Jay Sean and Lil Wayne have collaborated for another dance popping single in “Hit The Lights.” Unfortunately it does not live up to the same hype as their first collaboration, “Down,” but still worth spinning while gettin ya swag up before hitting the streets this weekend:
Benny Benassi has been producing remixes to some of our favorite dance songs for years, but he is finally making a push to release original house music in the USA. After teaming up with Chris Brown for “Beautiful People,” he has also enlisted T-Pain to be a sampled voice on his latest americanized House single. Now that the latest 2011 playlist has had time to digest, you may have noticed a few titles that were not featured on here beforehand. It has been far too long since we have posted a progression party playlist, but luckily there is finally an occasion to force the issue. None other than our very own DJ Suave will be hosting NYC’s premier party this weekend at his brand new Penthouse Suite in the Upper Northeast side of Manhattan. Unfortunately circumstances beyond my control will prevent me from DJing as originally planned, so I will be fulfilling my duties remotely. Now that 2011 has given us a month to digest some new music, your first official social playlist of the new year is as follows:
Phase I (2.4 Hours):
The first thing you will notice is that this is possibly the longest Phase I of a playlist BHE has ever assembled and there are three reasons for that. First is that this is a housewarming, so early birds are bound to show up with dinner in hand and a gift for the new tenants right at the beginning bell. Secondly, when hosting a party you have the homefield advantage, meaning that your get ready, swagga refresh, and meet and great music will intertwine for the 2 to 3 hours before things get poppin. Thirdly, this is NYC, instead of things getting cranked up at 10:30 pm and ending by 2:30 am, we have to account for the 10:30 pm to 4 am extended time frame, so having a solid 9 pm to 4:30 am playlist is absolutely necessary. Lupe Fiasco claims he has pushed his long awaited third studio album, Lasers, a final time. March 8, 2011 is when it is scheduled to drop (which likely means it will release March 15, 2011), and after three years of delays I am expecting nothing short of an amazing album. The first rumored single off of the upcoming CD is “Words I Never Said,” which features a great head bopping beat, some intense instrumentals, a superb chorus featuring Skylar Grey, and some controversial lyrics by Lupe. I expect to hear this one on the radio for the next few months, get your Thursday grind on while throwing Lupe’s latest masterpiece on repeat:
Kia Shine teams up with Yung Joc to give you our second off the wall song of the day. Again not necessarily worth throwing in Phase 2 of your playlist, but definitely worth cranking while wild n out before a Friday or Saturday night.
